Хотя каждый из 52 штатов имеет свои неповторимые особенности, все американцы имеют много общего и чрезвычайно гордятся страной, в которой живут. Один из самых популярных праздников - День независимости, который отмечается 4 июля, когда страна получила независимость от Британии. Другой большой праздник, День благодарения - своего рода праздник урожая, который отмечается поздней осенью. Торжества проводятся с истинно американским размахом и сопровождаются парадами и фейерверками. Американские семьи проводят свой досуг по-разному: участвуют в праздничных уличных шествиях, посещают ярмарки, выезжают на пикники или ходят в кино.
Американцы любят улыбаться, даже когда невесело. Быть несчастным здесь не принято. На вопрос вашего американского партнера о том, как ваши дела, не стоит на самом деле об этом рассказывать. Вас сочтут занудой или посоветуют обратиться к психиатру.
Американцы обожают соревноваться и ценят достижения. Успех измеряется количеством заработанных денег. Деловой американец не мелочен и не педантичен, но он понимает, что в организации любого дела нет мелочей. Американцы берегут время, ценят пунктуальность и живут по расписанию.
В последние годы американцы всё больше внимания уделяют рациональному питанию и здоровому образу жизни. Курение не приветствуется, а порой и просто считается неприличным. В своем рационе американцы всё чаще стараются свести к минимуму продукты, содержащие холестерин, предпочитают фрукты, овощи. Впрочем, и "традиционная американская еда" в виде сэндвичей, пиццы пользуется большой популярностью.

| I am a computer Analyst that spent my first half of my life working my career and not spending enough time living. For a while I have been studying Russian and have a few Russian and Ukrainian friends. I have gone to a Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and last years Ukrainian festival in DC was wonderful! I grew up on 40 acres of farmland, and enjoy the outdoors and country life. Nature inspires me. I prefer mountains to the ocean or sea, but enjoy both. I live in the city, because my job requires it. However, I prefer to live close to a big city, but far enough away to be able to enjoy both urban and rural lifestyles. The U.S. is a very different place from Russia and other Eastern European or Asian cultures. However, since we are a land of immigrant, we have a little of every culture in us. Life is not perfect here, and it can be tough at times. However, I know from living all over the U.S. that because we are a mixture of many ideas and cultures, that every town and city can be very different from each other, and one place may be better for some, while another place better for others. I try to be the best person my parents taught me to be. However, as in any place, there are very good people and very bad people, and everybody in between. Please be careful when seeking your soulmate. Don't trust everybody. And remember that the U.S. is a country made by the people. This means that you have to participate and work at being happy and take advantage of what the U.S. has to offer. |

| I would describe myself as smart, creative, sensual, loyal, loves animals, funny, enjoys dining, sharing a bottle of wine over good conversation under twinkling stars, looks good in jeans as well as a tux, appreciates the finer things in life, has worked in briefly in Europe (etc., etc...how does one say all this stuff without sounding like you're bragging?). OK, I'm really 47, but my friends tell me I really look like I'm in my mid-30s. Interests: Sports cars, music, cooking, wine, travel, animals, dining out, theatre Looking For Type: I would like to meet a slender, attractive, independent, educated woman with a stable profession, who is charming, has eyes only for me, funny, classy, kind, romantic, loves animals, enjoys dining and going out, mentally healthy, ready for some fun and adventure...I don't really have a "type" in mind, however you must be able to carry on a conversation on a variety of topics. Intellect, honesty and "niceness" are all important. I also enjoy traveling and trying new things. By the way, I think animal lovers are usually people with big hearts (I have had a dog most of my life and think cats are great, too, unlike many guys). | Because of my life experiences, I think I know better what most women want in a relationship with a man. She wants someone who genuinely is interested in her for who she is, a man who will listen to her, who will be romantic with her, who will genuinely try to put her interests ahead of his, at least most of the time. He should be a good provider, and someone with whom his lady feels safe and protected. If he will listen to her, and really hear what she is saying, will be gentle with her, treat her like a Queen, his Queen, then usually the physical relationship will follow and be very good. A wise man will listen to his companion or wife's counsel, and will take her ideas into consideration when making decisions. This is how I want to and will treat my lady and wife-to-be. As for my character, I consider myself to be honest, intelligent, resourseful, pleasant, with a good sense of humor, and a fun person to be around. I am a Christian and take my faith seriously.
